Incoming college Freshman Liz Carpenter (UW-Madison) made it to the semi-finals where she lost to the eventual champ Nina Yasftali.	Eric Riley was seeded #1 and made it to the semi-finals before having to retire due to illness. He plays for the University of Virginia.

High school player Hilary Schroeder came all the way down from Bakersfield to Mission Viejo for the ITA event and pushed sixth seed Brittany Holland in a 6-4, 7-5 loss.	Fourteen-year-old Caroline Richman has yet to start high school but she put up a heck of a fight against eventual semi-finalist Liz Carpenter with a 7-5, 7-5 loss in the round of 16.
