2005 NCAA DIVISION II CHAMPIONSHIPS

It had to end eventually and it did at the 2005 NCAA Division II Women's Championships. Armstrong Atlantic took the title and ended the longest winning streak in the nation -- BYU-Hawaii's 102 match run. With the win the Pirates had their third championship, the last two in 1995 and 1996.

As defending champions and the top-ranked team, West Florida certainly had an edge to win the 2005 NCAA Division II Men's Championship, but that didn't make the victory any less sweet. The Argonauts proved that last year was a beginning, not a fluke, as they captured their second title by shutting out North Florida.
