The day may have started under heavy clouds, but that was certainly not the way it continued. As the sun shined through the late morning and afternoon play ran smoothly on this first day of the Girls' 16 USTA Super National Hardcourts.

Since all of the seeded players had the day off, there was not chance of upsets. The first round of singles finished up this morning and was followed by the start of the doubles draw. Players were then treated to a San Diego Harbor Excursion and Dinner.

Tomorrow's matches will be starting at 8:00 am and I'm sure there will be some surprises as the top seeds begin their quest for the trophy.
