WALLA WALLA TENNIS & WINE CAMP

Who says the kids get to have all the fun? There's a tennis camp for grownups that takes fun to a new level, with some of the best coaching in college tennis by day and some of the best wine in the U.S. at night.

Days at the Walla Walla Tennis and Wine Camp are spent with on-court tennis instruction in the morning on the Whitman College campus. You will then spend evenings (and two afternoons) learning about and tasting wine. Events include a private tour of the vineyard of Walla Walla Vintners and a tasting in the Seven Hills Barrel Room.

The tennis at this camp is as first class as the wine. Each session is limited to 24 campers. Coaching is led by Greg Patton (below), who is in his 16th season of leading the Boise State Broncos. Patton has also coached top professionals such as Andy Roddick through World Team Tennis and the USTA. Joining Coach Patton on the court will be Whitman College coaches Jeff Northam and John Hein, both award-winning coaches.

I really loved Walla Walla, Washington, when I took a trip there last spring. It's a beautiful area filled with friendly people and great wine. This camp actually sounded so good that I've decided to go along for the ride. I'll be attending the June 21-24 session. If you can't join me then, there will also be camps held July 12-15 and July 19-22. Check the registration page for details and remember that there is a big early bird discount.

Hope to see you there,
