2007 WIMBLEDON CHAMPIONSHIPS
at the All England Tennis Club

At Wimbledon With Marcia Frost...

Thursday, June 28th
I've been at JFK so many times this year I've lost count, but there's something special about this trip. It reminds me of the day many years ago when I got in the car and drove to Flushing Meadow to cover the U.S. Open for the first time. This time it's a plane instead of a car, however, I am going to cover the Grandest of the Grand Slam's -- Wimbledon.

By this time tomorrow I will be at the All England Club checking out the scene and the best tennis in the world. I will primarily be covering the juniors, but hope to also catch some recent college players like Bobby Reynolds, Amer Delic, Rajeev Ram, Scott Lipsky & David Martin. Though they only remain in the doubles draw, it is still an exciting testament to American college tennis that they are at The Championships.

Also over the next week I'm looking to catch up with old (not literally, of course) friend Bill Mountford, who left the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center to take over as LTA's Director of Competition and follow Duke Coach Ramsey Smith as he coaches his dad Stan for his final Wimbledon event.

It's going to be an exciting eight days, come back to this column daily and check out the stories and photos from "across the pond."

Until Tomorrow,
Marcia Frost
