Zausner of Port Washington Tennis Academy Passes Away
Madeline Zausner died on Oct.17 of non-Hodgkins lymphoma
at the age of 67. She was a most familiar face at the
Also known as Madeline Fischbach, she was known for her infectious smile and sense of humor that lit up the room for the thousands of people who came into contact with her at the PWTA. She was the tournament director at hundreds of USTA Eastern tournaments was instrumental in the Port Washington Tennis Academy's USTA National and ITF International junior events.
Madeline served as the General Manager of College And Junior Tennis
and was a college coach at C.W. Post along with husband Dick Zausner. At the PWTA, Madeline was
responsible for all purchasing and merchandising of the PWTA Pro Shop and
played a major role in all
She is survived by her husband, Dick Zausner, her son, David Fischbach, a sister and two brothers. A memorial service is planned for November 23rd.
The family has requested that
donations in Madeline's memory be made out to~ "Lymphoma Foundation"
and mailed to Lymphoma Foundation,
