Happy New Year!

It was an early New Year's Eve for me as I was a little jet-lagged from my trip to Tucson for the USTA National Winter Championships and the Copper Bowl. It's just unbelieveable here at the beautiful Hilton El Conquistador where tournament director Don Dickinson, his staff and the staff of the Hilton coordinate the finals of the USTA National Winter Championships and the beginning of the Copper Bowl. I, on the other hand, can only handle one tournament at a time and today it's the end of the 14s and the 12s at the National Winters.

Rain really wrecked havoc with the schedule this week, but the majority of the matches were completed in the end. In the boys & girls 14s and the girls 12s, the top seeds prevailed as Chase Buchanan, Brittany Augustine and Christina McHale took home Gold Balls. Jack Sock, the number two seed, took the boys 12s.

It was a crazy day trying to keep up with all the trophy presentations, but tomorrow I will be back with lots of action photos and news from the Copper Bowl Championships.
