Janet Bergman

Wake Forest women's coach Brian Fleishman was recognized as the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) College Coach of the Year, also known as the Coach Verdiekc Award. Last season, Coach Fleishman led his team to their second NCAA quarterfinal appearance and led the Deamon Deacons to a career high 24-6 record. He was also responsible for leading the college career of National Player of the Year and NCAA singles winner Bea Bielik.

In other Wake Forest honors, former standout Janet Bergman was selected North Carolina Amateur Female Athlete of the Year by the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame. Janet was Wake Forest's all-time leader in singles and doubles victories, boasting a 28-13 singles record and 36-6 in doubles. She has returned to the school as Assistant Coach.

At the UNLV Women's Spring Invitational the hometown used their advantage to take the title with a 4-2 win over the University of Oklahoma.

The Washington Huskies were the winners at the 6th Annual Great Northwest Shootout. The competition also featured the men's teams from Clemson, San Diego State and Tulane.
