When film producers needed a 5'3" left handed tennis
player, junior Jordana Kono was a perfect fit.
Jordana spent a week last month playing tennis with
Dennis Quaid when she worked as a body-double for
Scarlett Johansson in the to be released film Synergy.

Donald Young became the first player to take advantage of the new rule allowing professionals to play USTA National Junior Championships when he took the Boys' 18 title at the Easter Bowl. It was Donald's seventh Gold Ball.

May was quite a month for sixteen year old Marcus Fugate who picked up four titles in three weeks on the ITF Junior Circuit.

Fourteen year old Alexa Glatch has continued her winning ways on the USTA Professional Circuit. Playing as an amateur, Alexa made it to the quarterfinals of her first tournament (a $50,000 event in Virginia) before losing to eventual champion Marissa Irvin, 7-5,6-1 She also made it to the quarters in El Paso and the Round of 16 in Hilton Head. In her most recent event, she went all the way to the finals in Ontario, Canada.

The USTA announced that Mike Nishihara has been named Strength and Conditioning Coach for USA Tennis High Performance.

The U.S. 14 and under boys qualified to compete in the World Junior Championships in the Czech Republic this August. Thirteen year old Andy Magee went undefeated during the event in both singles and doubles.
