Tennessee senior Vilmarie Castellvi received the Honda Sports Award in tennis. The award is given annually to the sport's top collegiate athlete. She is now a finalist for the Honda-Broderick Cup, which recognizes the nation's outstanding collegiate woman athlete of the year. No tennis player has ever won that recognition.

David Corrie of Texas-Arlington and Svenja Fuhrig of Texas-San Antonio have been named the first-ever recipients of the Southland Conference Student-Athlete of the Year Awards.

Coaching Changes... University of Arizona Assistant Coach Bob Helmig has resigned to pursue other professional opportunities. Coach Helmig was with the program for seven years.
