Asia Muhammed won the $10,000 Houston Pro Circuit event after surviving the Qualifying draw and then defeating Jelena Pandzic in the finals.

The ITF and Roland Garros decided to "experiment" with a new doubles format for the French Open Junior Championships. A 10-point tiebreaker was played instead of a third set and no-ad scoring was also used. No word yet on the feedback from this trial.

The Nationals at Kalamazoo, which celebrate their 65th anniversary this year, have finally got some mainstream attention. They were listed by Jim Caple on ESPN.com in the 101 Things All Sports Fans Must Experience Before They Die. (College And Junior Tennis will be there to this year.)
