The College of New Jersey has forfeited five wins in men's tennis because it used an ineligible player during last season. Athletic director Kevin McHugh said that his department reported the error to the NCAA as soon as they realized the player was academically ineligible. The violation occurred during the spring season. There was a similar problem on the CNJ softball team.

Ansley Cargill, who played for Duke before turning professional in 2001, earned a bronze medal at the Pan American Games while representing the United States. She lost in the semifinals to Milagros Sequera.

Notre Dame head coach Jay Louderback and his family were named the 2002 USTA Tennis Family of the Year. Coach Louderback is in his 15th season; his father J.C. has been involved in the game for over 46 years and has served as a High School Coach; his brother Brad has been head coach at Illinois and Oklahoma State; and sister Jan Krisik is the girls tennis coach at Arkansas City High School.

Princeton University is losing their "Pagoda" tennis courts to construction of a new residential college building. These courts have been home to hundreds of junior and college tournaments since 1963 (inlcuding the NCAAs). The school is hosting an historic, festive, farewell party. Pagoda Fest events inlcude clinics, tournaments, instruction, exhibitions with Stan Smith, cocktails, dinner and dancing. For more information, visit http://www.friendsofprincetontennis.com.

Coaching Changes... Former Georgia & Miami player Michael Lang is the new assistant coach for Tulane... Michelle Dasso, one of the most decorated women's players at Notre Dame is returning to the school as an assistant coach... Interim coach Beverly Bowes-Hackey was appointed full-time assistant coach at Texas... Michael Coleman has been named head coach at the newly developed women's tennis program at Nova Southeastern.
